ROYAL CANIN Diabetic Special Low Carbohydrate is specifically formulated to help adult dogs with diabetes mellitus control blood sugar. Choosing an adapted diet, high in protein, low in starch and with an adapted fiber content helps minimize the increase in blood glucose after meals.
This formula is high in protein which helps maintain healthy muscle mass. This formula contains a reduced level of starch that helps control postprandial blood glucose in dogs with diabetes. This diet also contributes to a urinary environment unfavorable for the development of struvite and calcium oxalate stones.
As part of the ROYAL CANIN Veterinary Health Nutrition range, you should only give this product to your pet if recommended by a veterinarian. Transitioning your pet from one diet to another should be done slowly and gradually over a period of 7 to 10 days. You must make sure you offer the correct portions, particularly if the diet is mixed.
